Backup Strategies

"If anything can go wrong, it will." Murphy's Law

Backup strategies are important for the inevitable technology crashes you/your students experience.

Let's face it; Murphy's Law certainly applies to technology. Proactive solutions using other technologies can mean the difference between a technological glitch and an outright disaster. Develop alternate strategies for you/your students to follow in handling disruptions caused by problems with technology. For example:

If the Digital Drop Box fails, have students submit assignments via e-mail with a brief description of the technical problem in the e-mail body.

If e-mail fails, have them fax the work, briefly describing the technical problems in a cover message.

If students are unable to post to the discussion board, they can leave a message on your voice mail.
